Lambert Security Breach
Three guards are no longer working at Lambert Airport after two security breaches this week.

Three guards are no longer working at Lambert Airport after two security breaches this week.

Tuesday night a guard with Whelan security, the airport security firm, allowed a female passenger to turn around and head back down concourse a to look for her purse after she had passed the exit point.

The next morning a homeless man slipped through a check point and was found sleeping on a plane.

Airport officials say in almost six years Whelan's record has been good.

"I think it's two isolated incidents but we're still concerned, it's not something we're taking lightly and it's not something Whelan's taking lightly. Should passengers, should people who come to this airport be concerned about their safety? No, absolutely not," said Chief Paul Mason with Lambert Police Department.

Mason said the airport has made security changes because of the incidents, but he wouldn't describe them.

Two of the guards have been suspended, the other fired.
