Gerald, MO — An eastern-Missouri pharmacist has been arrested on suspicion of manufacturing methamphetamine.

Gerald Police Chief Ryan McCrary didn't release the pharmacist's name, but said he would be charged in a few days.

The pharmacist was arrested Monday in the Franklin County community 70 miles southwest of St. Louis.

Gerald Discount Pharmacy said it remains open and is filling prescriptions.

The DEA said the pharmacy can't fill prescriptions for controlled substances for now, after the pharmacist voluntarily surrendered his DEA registration.
