Authorities at Lambert Airport said they've had two security breaches in one week.

St. Louis — Authorities at Lambert Airport said they've had two security breaches in one week.

According to Jeff Lea, Public Relations Manager at Lambert, on Tuesday, a female passenger exited a secured area only to do a u-turn telling the guard she forgot her purse.

The guard allowed her to go back without going through the security precautions.

He called airport police and a sweep of the terminal revealed nothing unusual.

Lea said the security guard has been fired.

Previous Story:

Authorities at Lambert Airport are tightening safety procedures after a man breached security at the airport Tuesday night and fell asleep in an empty airplane.

The man reportedly was discovered asleep in an empty jet around 6:40am Wednesday .

The plane was not in service and security officers found the man during a routine security check.

Investigators with the Lambert Police Department said the suspect got onto the airfield through a security checkpoint while guards were searching vehicles to enter the airfield.
