KPLR-TV, the St Louis CW affiliate, has an immediate opening for an Assistant Chief Engineer. Successful applicant will possess drive, ambition & dedication to quality control of day-to-day engineering operations and local news production. Candidates must have an engineering degree or equivalent experience, and a minimum of five years broadcast engineering experience. Excellent digital and IT skills are imperative. A solid engineering and broadcast perspective is required with knowledge of both analog and digital studio and transmitter systems.

We are looking for a person with a positive team attitude with strong skills in business management and communication. Experience with management in a collective bargaining environment desired.

KPLR television is looking for a Technical Director to TD our 9:00 pm newscast. In addition - this position will be responsible for tape based editing as well as Non-Linear editing for production of commercial and promotional material. This position controls video and sound levels and equalization to insure consistency of quality during editing sessions as well as live productions. The ideal candidate will have 2 years experience in a live news broadcast operation with experience in TD, Audio, Editing (linear & non-linear) and all other news production duties. Experience with GVG Zodiak and Avid editing systems preferred. Audio and Master Control experience desired. The ability to work flexible hours, including overnight, early mornings, weekends and/or holidays is required.

Requirements:

This position requires experience in broadcast television technical operations. Duties may include operation of satellite-receiving equipment, video servers, tape machines, ENG signal acquisition and operation of PC based automation.

Evening, weekend and vacation relief hours are available.

This position is covered by the company contract with IBEW Local 4.
